GTWCEU - Round 4 : Monza

Challenging 3 Hours of Monza for the 296 GT3s

The second round of the GT World Challenge Europe - Endurance Cup at Monza proved difficult, with the 296 GT3s unable to demonstrate their full capabilities due to Balance of Performance (BoP) limitations.

Held at the legendary Autodromo Nazionale Monza, the event saw Ferrari cars playing a more subdued role than usual. None of the AF Corse - Francorchamps Motors entries in the Pro class managed to reach the finish line.

Car No. 51 driven by official drivers Alessio Rovera, Alessandro Pier Guidi, and Vincent Abril started in a promising position - eighth on the grid - after a solid qualifying session that saw Rovera top the first segment. The trio maintained a competitive pace within the top ten, but their efforts came to an early end around the two-hour mark when Abril made contact with another car during a pit entry, forcing the team to retire.

Car No. 50, piloted by Antonio Fuoco, Arthur Leclerc, and Eliseo Donno, was also headed for a strong result until it was forced to retire just minutes before the end of the race. The retirement was caused by damage from a delaminated left rear tyre.

Coming next: Attention now shifts to the most anticipated race of the season: the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, set to take place from 25 to 29 June.
